These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Dewain Robinson II, an individual trading as RobinX ("RobinX", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the RobinX mobile application and the services behind it (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, starting a free trial, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy at https://robinx.app/privacy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What RobinX is
RobinX is a personal and household budgeting tool. You give it your income, bills, spending, savings and debt figures. It organises them into a monthly plan, tracks what you actually spent against that plan, and shows what is left.
You get figures into RobinX in two ways:
- You type them in.
- You paste text from a bank statement. RobinX reads the pasted text on your device and suggests transactions and categories. You review the suggestions, and only the rows you choose to keep are saved.
RobinX does not connect to your bank. It cannot see your accounts, move money, or pay bills. We do not ask for, receive, or store bank login credentials. Do not paste passwords, full card numbers, or other credentials into RobinX.
2. RobinX is not financial advice
RobinX keeps records and helps you plan. Nothing in the Service is financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice. No output of the Service is a recommendation to take or avoid any action, including totals, projections, debt-payoff dates, over-allocation warnings, reports, or suggested categories.
You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. For advice about your circumstances, consult a qualified professional.
3. Automated features and their limits
Some features work things out for you automatically. All of them use fixed rules applied to the information you provide. None of them uses artificial intelligence or any data from outside the Service.
- Projections, such as debt-payoff dates, are arithmetic on the figures you enter. They assume those figures stay the same. They ignore fees, rate changes, and anything you have not entered. If your inputs are wrong or incomplete, the projections will be wrong too.
- Statement import may misread dates or amounts, skip lines, group transactions incorrectly, or suggest the wrong category. Check every row before you keep it. You are responsible for what you save.
- Reminders are notifications that your device schedules locally. They need notification permission and a correctly set device clock. They may be delayed or not appear at all, for example after a reinstall, when permission is revoked, or when your device suppresses notifications. Do not rely on RobinX as your only reminder to pay a bill.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
5. Your account
You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a one-time link sent to your email address. If you use Apple or Google, that provider's own terms and privacy practices govern the sign-in itself.
You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure, including your email inbox and your device, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
6. Households and sharing
You can invite another person to join your household so that you both work from the same budget. Before you invite anyone, understand what joining gives them:
- Every member of a household can see all budget data in it. That includes every line, every planned and actual amount, every transaction and note, and the full history of every month, including data entered before they joined.
- Every member can edit and delete that data, including data you entered.
- Anyone who has the code can use it to join. Invite codes work once and expire after 7 days. You can withdraw an open code in Settings. Share a code only with the person you intend to give this access to.
- Membership ends when a member deletes their account. The Service does not currently let you remove another member yourself. If you need someone removed, contact us at [email protected].
- Ending membership does not take back what that person already saw or anything they copied while they were a member.
You are responsible for whom you invite. We do not resolve disputes between household members over shared data.
7. Subscriptions, free trial and billing
A subscription is required. After any free trial, you need an active subscription to use the Service. Without one, the app shows only the subscription screen.
Plans and prices. We offer monthly and annual auto-renewing subscriptions. The current price, billing period and any trial are shown on the subscription screen and in the App Store before you buy. Prices may vary by country and currency. Prices at launch are $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year in the United States.
One subscription per household. One active subscription gives access to every member of the household it was bought in. If the subscription ends, every member loses access.
Free trial. New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. Apple decides who is eligible, and you will not normally get a second trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged automatically.
Purchases go through Apple. All purchases are made through your Apple ID and are subject to Apple's terms. We never receive your payment card details.
Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the period ends. Apple charges the renewal to your Apple ID within the 24 hours before the period ends.
Cancelling. You can cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings, or from Settings → Manage subscription in the app. When you cancel, the subscription stops renewing. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Deleting the app or your account does not cancel your subscription. Apple keeps billing until you cancel with Apple.
Payment problems. If a renewal payment fails while Apple retries it, access may continue for a limited grace period. If payment is not recovered, access ends.
Refunds. Apple handles refunds under its own policies, and you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves. We do not give partial refunds for unused time, except where the law requires them.
Price changes. We may change our prices. A price increase on an existing subscription takes effect only at a renewal after you have been notified, and Apple will ask for your consent where its rules require it.
8. Your data
You own what you put in. We claim no ownership of your budget data.
You give us only the limited right we need to run the Service for you. That means storing your data, showing it to you and to the members of your household, backing it up, and processing it to provide the features you use. This right ends when the data is deleted, apart from backup copies, which are removed on the schedule set out in our Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising. We do not use your budget contents to train machine-learning models.
Keep your own records. The Service does not currently offer a data export. Do not rely on RobinX as your only copy of information you need.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Service unlawfully, or store information you have no right to store;
- try to access any household or account that is not yours;
- share or try to guess invite codes in order to join a household without the invitation of one of its members;
- probe, scan, disrupt or overload the Service, or try to get around any security, access control or subscription check;
- reverse engineer the app, except where the law permits it despite this restriction;
- resell, sublicense or rent the Service, or offer it to others as your own;
- scrape or bulk-extract data from the Service by automated means.
10. Our app and intellectual property
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the RobinX app on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service and for as long as these Terms apply to you. Family Sharing does not extend this licence.
We and our licensors own the Service, including the app, its design and the RobinX name and logo. These Terms do not give you any right to them beyond this licence.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
11. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties, including Apple (distribution, payments and Sign in with Apple), Google (Google sign-in, if you choose it), Supabase (database and authentication), RevenueCat (subscription status) and Sentry (crash reports). Their own terms may apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their services. Our Privacy Policy describes what each of them receives.
12. Availability and changes to the Service
We aim to keep the Service running, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will never be lost. We may change, suspend or remove features.
If we shut the Service down entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email. Where the law requires it, we will provide a pro-rata refund of prepaid fees, or ask Apple to.
13. Suspension and termination
By you. You can stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your account permanently from Settings → Delete account, or by emailing [email protected] from the address linked to your account. Deletion cannot be undone:
- If you are the only member of your household, the household and all of its budget data are deleted with your account.
- If other members remain, the household and its budget data, including the transactions and entries you added, stay with them. Your account and personal profile are deleted. If you were the household's owner, ownership passes to the member who joined earliest.
- If you paid for the household's subscription, cancel it with Apple as well. Otherwise Apple keeps billing you. After your account is deleted, your subscription may no longer give the household access beyond the current period.
By us. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we shut down the Service. Where it is reasonable and lawful, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.
Sections 2, 3, 8, 10, 14, 15, 16 and 18 continue to apply after termination.
14. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. This includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
If the app fails to conform to any warranty that cannot be excluded, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, lost data, late fees, missed payments, or overdraft charges arising from or related to the Service.
- Our total liability for all claims related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim, or (b) US $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability, or any consumer right, that cannot lawfully be limited.
16. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you will indemnify us, and anyone acting for us, against third-party claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Service.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will give you notice in the app or by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service, cancel your subscription and delete your account.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California have exclusive jurisdiction. However, if mandatory consumer-protection law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings there, or to rely on its laws, you keep that right.
Before you start formal proceedings, please contact us at [email protected] so that we can try to resolve the matter informally.
19. Apple
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims relating to the app or your use of it. That includes product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet any legal or regulatory requirement, claims under consumer-protection, privacy or similar laws, and any claim that the app infringes someone else's intellectual property.
You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you.
